Responsibilities

• Handles referrals from other providers and hospital patients needing follow up appointments, gathers necessary information, and schedules the appointment.
• Obtains demographic and insurance information on patients and verifies eligibility for new patients.
• Registers new patients into the system and prepares/charts their information.
• Schedules new patients in the computer system following physician/office guidelines and updates as needed.
• Gathers and enters authorization and referral correspondence in patient charts and systems.
• Acts as receptionist, providing information and routing calls to staff.
• Assists with charges submission and data submission to third party vendors.
