Job summary

Resurgens Orthopaedics is seeking a Patient Referral Specialist to manage incoming referrals and maintain accurate EMR records. You will cover front desk and information desk as needed and ensure timely processing of documentation.

Responsibilities include coordinating the external referral process, scheduling via calls, communicating with outside physician offices, and maintaining patient privacy and data accuracy. Independent work style preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of referral coordination experience; HM O experience preferred.
• Computer literate with strong keyboard skills and EMR experience.
• Experience in communicating with patients and scheduling.
• Background in medical terminology, orthopedics, and ability to analyze scheduling needs.
• Familiarity with health insurance plans and eligibility processes preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; customer service oriented.
• Neat, professional appearance and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage external referral process and daily referral reconciliation with required information and documents.
• Answer telephone calls and assist with scheduling and other needs.
• Participate in clinic and market education, training, and meetings.
• Communicate with outside physician offices to clarify referral issues.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records and confidentiality.
• Scan MRI scans, surgery photos, and outside records into the EMR system.
• Retain knowledge of insurance policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
