Job summary

El Dorado Community Health Centers is seeking a Medical Office Receptionist to perform front desk duties, patient check-out, and general operator tasks while using the electronic medical record to register and schedule patients in line with HIPAA guidelines.

The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and patient-centered care within a supportive clinic environment in California. Experience in medical scheduling and familiarity with CPT/ICD terminology are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience: One year of experience in customer service, medical scheduling and/or related clinical environment; working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Education And Certification: High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and accurately register client demographics in electronic medical record.
• Obtain and verify client insurance and co-pay information.
• Obtain client authorizations and check accuracy of clinic forms.
• Collect and log co-pays/deductibles/payments.
• Make return appointments at the end of client visits.
• Prepare and post charges from source documents and complete daily deposits.
• Maintain lobby appearance and report issues to Front Office Supervisor.
• Verify patient eligibility with Medi-Cal and CMSP where applicable.
• Interpret for non-English-speaking clients if proficient.
• Schedule new patient appointments and explain the Center’s sliding fee scale.
• Assemble and mail new-client packages.
