Job summary
HALO Precision Diagnostics in West Des Moines is seeking a Patient Navigator (Patient Support & Phlebotomy) to guide patients through hereditary cancer genetic testing, provide education, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team. The role includes phlebotomy support and working closely with partner clinics to ensure a seamless patient experience.
The position requires a nationally certified phlebotomist, at least 2 years of clinical experience, and proficiency in insurance verification
Qualifications
- Nationally certified phlebotomist.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience (front or back office).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience with diagnostic or genetic specimen collection.
Responsibilities
- Guide patients through the hereditary cancer genetic testing process from start to finish.
- Coordinate patient education, scheduling, and follow-up.
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens for testing.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate data entry in EMR/EHR systems.
- Support insurance verification and prior authorizations as needed.
