ECU Health Medical Center seeks a Dietary Assistant to visit newly admitted patients on advanced diets, follow progression from NPO to liquid diets, and collaborate with nursing staff to identify meal-order needs. This role documents and resolves patient and nursing meal-service complaints, and communicates with Clinical Dietitians about patient issues.

The position also provides coverage for call center operators as requested, conducts daily meal rounds, and completes AYR test trays at their

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is preferred.
• Nutrition education background or experience in hospital food service or diet office preferred.
• Experience with normal and modified diets and carbohydrate counting/protein exchange systems.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and complete assignments on time.

Responsabilités

• Visit all newly admitted patients on advanced diets.
• Visit patients advancing from NPO/Clear Liquid/Full Liquid diets.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to identify patients needing meal-order assistance.
• Document and resolve patient/nursing meal-service complaints.
• Communicate with Clinical Dietitians about patient-related issues.
• Provide coverage for call center operators/host/hostesses as requested by supervisor or managers.
• Conduct daily meal rounds.
• Complete AYR test trays.
