Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Hospitality Assistant to support patient food services, helping with menu selections and tray delivery. You will work under clinical dietitians and the Dietary Director to ensure accurate patient meals and timely service.

You will assist with tray assembly, delivery, and dish room responsibilities while maintaining patient confidentiality and delivering outstanding customer service across diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 1 year of technical or specialized training including inservice program within 30 days of employment; includes diet restrictions/therapeutic diets.
• Ability to follow hospital policies and dietary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tray carts for lunch and dinner using patient diet orders.
• Deliver menus to patient rooms and explain menu process; assist with selections.
• Ensure every patient is contacted and-receives a tray unless NPO; document special requests.
• Retrieve and deliver meal trays; break down carts and sanitize equipment.
• Provide clerical support to the dietary office and generate standard computer reports.
