Job summary

Confluence Health is seeking staff for pool meal-service roles with variable shifts. You will assist patients with meals, coordinate orders with diet guidelines, assemble trays, and support the nutrition team to ensure safety and quality standards across all duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED-equivalent and one year of related work experience in hospitality, retail or healthcare service fields.
• Maintain a valid Washington Food Handler’s permit.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply procedure manuals and safety rules.
• Strong English communication, both written and spoken.
• Basic computer skills.
• AA Degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of therapeutic/modified diets or healthcare experience is helpful.
• Experience with food management software or POS systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of trayline services and other food-handling activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist hospital customers with meal orders over the phone or at bedside.
• Submit meal orders using food management software, ensuring patient safety.
• Guide patients toward food items matching prescribed diets.
• Assemble meal trays with accuracy, safety, and quality.
• Serve as liaison between patients, nutrition staff, and health care team.
• Handle food in accordance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
• May perform tasks such as meal delivery, inventory, equipment use, and cleaning.
• Perform other duties and uphold Code of Conduct at all times.
