Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Georgia is seeking a daytime Liaison for a full-time 36-hour PPP position. The role involves day shift duties and delivering meals to patients while ensuring accuracy and compassionate service in a busy hospital setting.

You will work with the Food & Nutrition team, confirm meal orders, and adhere to HACCP and health guidelines to protect patient safety. This role emphasizes patient advocacy and professional communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter meal preferences within the scope of diet restrictions and deliver meals to patients in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
• Confirm the accuracy of the tray against the patient's order and reconfirm the correct tray is delivered to the correct patient using two patient identifiers.
• Represent the hospital and department in a professional and caring manner.
• Instruct patients in the meal ordering process and act as patient advocate.
• Delivers nutrition supplies to units as ordered and completes other duties as assigned.
• Ensures the Safety of Patients and Team Members per HACCP and County Health Department Guidelines.
• Washes hands, wears gloves, and performs hand hygiene; follows infection prevention practices.
• Delivers patient trays and verifies patient identity using two identifiers.
• Verifies menu selections are accurate and compliant with diet order; seeks approval from leadership or Clinical Dietitian.
• Escalates food allergy and diet consistency concerns to leadership or Clinical Dietitian.
• Monitors and records temperatures; corrects/escalates out-of-range occurrences.
• Stores food and supplies using proper labeling and dating.
• Operates equipment safely and reports unsafe conditions.
• Uses IT equipment and protects confidential information.
