Job summary

Compass Health Center is seeking a Medical Intake Coordinator in Northbrook to manage medical registration for new patients and collaborate with nursing and psychiatry teams. You will document intake information, vital signs, and coordinate with treatment staff while maintaining patient confidentiality.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and a willingness to support multiple departments within a busy mental health facility.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Experience in mental health care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage medical registration for new patients.
• Support Nursing and Psychiatry departments administratively.
• Collect intake info: meds and health history.
• Collaborate with nursing on intake details.
• Record vital signs, height and weight.
• Draft medical docs and lab orders under psychiatry.
• Transcribe info to patient charts; inform the treatment team.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist with infection control measures.
• Inventory medication, supplies, and equipment.
• Initiate Prior Authorizations for meds and diagnostics.
• Participate in professional development.
• Support Director of Nursing with duties.
• Consult with psychiatrists, NPs, program directors, staff therapists, nurses, admin staff.
