Job summary

MedStar Health in Franklin Square Medical Center is seeking a Part-time Patient and Guest Relations representative. The role is weekend-based (Saturday & Sunday) with 6:30am-3:00pm shifts.

You will greet and assist patients and visitors, provide directions, and help resolve issues in a 24/7 environment. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of related experience, with on-site engagement and potential badges issuance.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required for patient and guest interactions.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• General office experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, quality and safety standards.
• Welcomes patients and visitors and provides information and directions throughout the hospital.
• Coordinates transportation services and escorts as needed; accesses patient information via terminal.
• Issues photo identification badges to associates, vendors, and contractors.
• Oversees facility entrances, assists guests, and may assist with parking or validation for parking.
• Arranges overnight accommodations within the hospital or at local hotels as needed.
• Monitors waiting areas, interacts with doctors, family members, and patients to resolve issues.
• Handles patient and visitor complaints; escalates to advocates or supervisors as required and ensures follow-up.
• Orients volunteers to staff information desks across the facility.
• Monitors lobby appearance, waiting areas, elevators, and entrances.
• Participates in meetings, committees, and community outreach; contributes to quality and service improvement teams.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
