Job summary

The Financial Counselor at MUSC Health helps patients navigate funding and coverage options, including Medicaid, disability, Financial Assistance, and insurance. You will guide patients to determine ability to pay and collect copayments, deductibles, or deposits prior to services.

Collaborating with care teams, you ensure timely access to care while educating patients about programs and eligibility, documenting outcomes and maintaining compliance with health system policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–6 months of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate scheduled patient visits to identify funding/coverage and assist applying for Medicaid, disability, Financial Assistance, insurance coverage, or resources identified revealing the ability to pay for MUSC Health services.
• Provide patients copayments/deductible/deposit information to be paid prior to services.
