Job summary

Carilion Wellness Roanoke is seeking a Food Services Associate II to lead daily department activities, ensure quality meals, and support patient and customer satisfaction. You will assist the manager, schedule staff, monitor sanitation, and use electronic systems for menus and records.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years in nutritional or retail food service, SERV-SAFE or Virginia Health Dept cert (or ability to obtain within one year), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or two years related experience.
• 1–3 years nutrition or retail food service experience; supervisory experience desirable.
• SERV-SAFE or Virginia Health Dept certification, or ability to obtain within year one.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
• Keyboarding/computer skills for automated systems, including EMR.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and adjusts staffing as appropriate.
• Maintains standards of performance, food quality and sanitation.
• Follows and enforces Food and Nutrition Services policies and procedures.
• Completes all general food service tasks as assigned.
• Participates in department activities/meetings and customer satisfaction initiatives.
• Reviews and verifies all documentation daily.
• Orders and/or monitors food and supplies.
• Participates in hiring, staff development and feedback.
• Manages menus and patient food item requests using automated systems including EMR.
