Job summary

Middle Tennessee Internal Medicine is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our Nashville practice. In a fast-paced healthcare setting you will greet patients, check them in, and help ensure smooth front desk operations.

The role requires strong communication, familiarity with EMR systems, scheduling software, and the ability to multitask while delivering patient-centered service. Prior front office experience is preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in medical front office or healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and scheduling software.
• Knowledge of insurance verification, co-pays, and basic medical billing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner.
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using practice management software.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays at time of service.
• Answer multi-line phone system and route calls to appropriate clinical staff.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic information in EMR.
• Coordinate referrals and communicate with insurance providers as needed.
• Manage front desk operations including filing, faxing, and patient correspondence.
