Job summary

Southern Oklahoma Pain Management is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our welcoming front desk team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling check-in, scheduling, and insurance verification while delivering friendly, accurate service.

The role supports clinical staff, uses our practice management software, and ensures patient records are complete and confidential under HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical front office or healthcare administration.
• Familiar with medical terminology and EHR/EMR systems.
• Proficient in insurance verification and patient data handling.
• Strong communication and patient-centered service.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and office equipment.
• High school diploma; medical office certification a plus.
• HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and check in.
• Schedule and manage appointments using practice management software.
• Answer calls, route inquiries, and take messages.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays.
• Maintain accurate patient demographics and medical records.
• Coordinate referrals with healthcare providers.
• Manage front desk tasks including filing and faxing.
• Collect payments to support the clinic's revenue cycle management.
