Job summary

The Gavin J. Goorjian Community Health Center seeks a Medical Receptionist to greet patients, manage check-in/check-out, schedule appointments, verify demographics and insurance, handle payments, and document in the electronic health record.

This role supports a welcoming front desk and efficient patient flow. The successful candidate will work with clinical staff to maintain patient confidentiality, coordinate referrals, and ensure a positive patient experience, with emphasis on accurate data

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills for a diverse patient base.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with scheduling, records, and confidentiality requirements.
• Experience with electronic health records and HIPAA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors professionally and over the phone.
• Complete check-in/out and verify demographic/insurance information.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments and follow-ups.
• Answer calls, route messages, and document communications in the EHR.
