Job summary

Providence seeks a Patient Financial Counselor to join Revenue Cycle Business Services in Oregon. This full-time, day-shift role supports patients and families by resolving accounts, collecting payments, and guiding sponsorship and financial assistance.

You will identify eligibility, educate patients, and submit applications for state and federal programs, while ensuring compliance with Providence's mission and values.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• 2 years' experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office.
• 3 years' experience or proven success as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its Affiliates.
• 2 years' experience in automated, computerized account follow-up system, preferably in Epic.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and families by phone or in person to ease resolution of accounts.
• Facilitate financial clearance, payment collection, sponsorship and financial assistance.
• Identify eligibility, educate, and submit applications for state and federal sponsorship programs.
• Assist patients with Providence St. Joseph Health Financial Assistance eligibility determinations.
