Job summary

Providence is seeking a Patient Financial Counselor to join our Revenue Cycle team in Lubbock, TX. This full-time, day shift, on-site role involves direct interaction with patients and families to resolve accounts through financial clearance, payments, sponsorships, and assistance.

You will determine eligibility, educate patients, and complete applications for state and federal sponsorship programs, supporting Providence's mission to provide care with compassion and respect.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• 2 years' experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office.
• 3 years' experience or proven success as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its Affiliates.
• 2 years' experience in automated, computerized account follow-up system required, preferably in Epic.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and families by phone or in person to ease account resolutions.
• Perform financial clearance, payment collection, sponsorship and financial assistance tasks.
• Identify eligibility, provide education, and complete/submitted applications for State and Federal sponsorship programs.
• Assess eligibility for Providence Financial Assistance.
