Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year medical billing/collections experience preferred.
  • Understanding of Fair Lending guidelines and collection policies.
  • Ability to follow hospital/clinic policies and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients using AIDET on the phone or in person.
  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility.
  • Generate and communicate patient estimates prior to appointments.
  • Screen patients for Financial Assistance.
  • Advise patients of CoPays, Coinsurance and/or Deductible amounts and request deposits prior to appointments.
  • Provide patients with payment plan options including plans with Clear Balance.
  • Return messages before 3:30 PM Mon–Fri within 2 hours.
  • Assist departments and clinics with cost of services questions.
  • Handle inquiries after identity verification.
  • Maintain a positive rapport with customers.
  • Handle telephone and email communications appropriately.
  • Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively.
