Job summary

Duke University Health System's Patient Revenue Management Office is seeking a Financial Care Counselor at Duke Raleigh Outpatient Service Access. You will accurately complete patient accounts and inform patients of their financial liability prior to services, guiding them through payment options.

Ideal candidates have experience in hospital billing or collections, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with insurance carriers and physicians to resolve issues and support

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in hospital service access, billing or collections.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Ability to analyze insurance coverage and determine payment sources.

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance coverage and benefits to ensure timeliness.
• Obtain authorizations per plan guidelines.
• Explain bills and help visitors with payment options.
• Resolve insurance claim denials and advise on coverage.
• Register and pre-register patients with accurate data.
• Coordinate with financial counseling and third-party sponsorship.
