Job summary

Albert Einstein Medical Center seeks a Financial Counselor to support patient financial services, including MA applications and payment arrangements. You will verify benefits, collect payments, and assist in navigating payer requirements.

You will collaborate with case management and social workers to ensure timely approvals, and maintain accurate records within registration and cashiering systems. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years' experience in a financial, business office, or customer service environment.
• One year hospital business office experience preferred.
• Demonstrated computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of ICD9 coding and medical terminology.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and remain organized.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and inputs patient/guarantor demographic and financial information accurately.
• Explains forms and obtains signatures from patient/guarantor.
• Contacts payers to verify benefits and obtain authorizations; documents in system.
• Assist with MA applications and communicate with case management as needed.
• Explain insurance benefits and collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay balances.
• Follow注册 departmental policies for self-pay and cash handling.
