Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Financial Care Counselor for the Patient Revenue Management Office (PRMO) at Duke Health Center in Morreene Rd. You will help ensure accurate patient accounts, confirm insurance requirements, and discuss financial responsibilities with patients prior to service.

The role requires formal education in healthcare finance, the ability to analyze coverage, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in hospital service access, clinical service access, physician office or billing and collections.
• Associate's degree in a healthcare related field and one year of experience with the public.
• Bachelor's degree and one year of experience with the public.

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance coverage and benefits for service to ensure timely processing.
• Obtain authorizations based on insurance plan contracts and guidelines.
• Explain bills and provide assistance to visitors and patients.
• Update the billing system and refer patients to financial counseling when needed.
