Job summary

Denver Springs is seeking a Financial Counselor to support patients with their financial responsibilities for services received. You will assess insurance benefits, explain potential out-of-pocket costs, and guide patients through payment options to ensure timely settlements.

Working on-site in Denver, you will verify coverage, communicate clearly with patients and hospital staff, and collaborate with multiple departments to resolve financial questions and coordinate assistance programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; advanced education preferred
• Exceptional customer service and telephone skills a must
• Familiarity/knowledge of crisis intervention and at-risk populations
• Proficient in use of software programs; exposure to EHR systems preferred
• Minimum of one year of business, healthcare, or insurance related experience
• PPI / HIPPA knowledge preferred
• Comfortable with at-risk populations and discussing financial responsibility

Responsibilities

• Guide patients on financial responsibilities resulting from services
• Verify insurance benefits accurately and timely
• Research and maintain knowledge of insurance reimbursement rates and criteria
• Explain financial liability and assist with payment arrangements
• Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, hospital administration and all departments
• Collect co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and related payments
