Job summary

Responsibilities include collecting patient liabilities, posting payments, explaining financial policies, and guiding patients on payment options while maintaining compliance and excellent service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and checks in, including data entry and collecting necessary signatures.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and helps obtain pre-certifications, referrals, and authorizations.
• Calculates and collects patient liabilities and explains financial policies and payment options.
• Posts payments/charges and reconciles daily activity, balances cash drawer, and handles daily deposits.
• Schedules appointments and procedures, maximizes reimbursement with payer plan provisions, and ensures patient readiness.
• Communicates with patients via phone, email, and in person to address concerns and provide financial guidance.
• Assists with patient record requests and maintains privacy and compliance.
• Provides patient services to support flow, including escorting patients, taking vitals, and supporting staff.
• Works independently in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize and manage changing payor information.
