Job summary

Savista, LLC is hiring an Eligibility Specialist 2 to assist patients in navigating financial assistance programs and to coordinate the Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, and charity care applications. The role requires empathetic guidance, strong organization, and the ability to liaise with hospital staff and government agencies to ensure timely submissions and compliant records.

In-person visits, bilingual capabilities, and independence are valued as you help uninsured or underinsured patients

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Proficiency in English and Spanish
• At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in healthcare or financial counseling
• Must be able to obtain license to become a Public Notary within 3 months of hire
• Willingness to perform in-home patient visits within assigned market area
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Strong organizational skills with multi-tasking and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to explain complex information clearly and empathetically
• Ability to identify solutions to financial challenges using program knowledge
• Genuine care for patients’ needs, building trust and rapport

Responsibilities

• Meet with patients in-person, including bedside visits, to assess financial assistance eligibility and provide guidance on programs
• Facilitate the application process for Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, and Charity Care with timely, accurate submissions
• Act as liaison between patients, hospital staff, and government agencies to establish eligibility and secure funding
• Manage multiple patient cases with prioritization to meet deadlines and follow up
• Communicate financial obligations, funding options, and program details empathetically
• Maintain confidential records in HIPAA-compliant systems
• Meet productivity and quality metrics aligned with financial counseling objectives
• Utilize multiple systems to gather, track, and report patient data
• Assist with vacancy coverage as needed
• Complete special projects as assigned
