Job summary

Savista, LLC is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II to help patients access financial assistance programs across multiple hospital locations in California. The role focuses on bedside screenings, in-home visits, and clear, empathetic communication to resolve eligibility and coverage.

You will navigate Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and charity care processes, coordinating with hospitals and agencies to move cases toward resolution while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Experience in customer-facing roles is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare/Disability programs desired.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient with multiple software systems and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate, conducting advanced screenings with patients in-person at bedside, to assess eligibility for financial assistance programs.
• Perform in-home patient visits to support the completion of applications.
• Engage patients via phone outreach to facilitate screenings and documentation.
• Guide patients through complex applications for Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, and hospital charity care, ensuring timely submission of documentation.
• Independently manage application follow-up across multiple programs.
• Maintain high case-load management, meeting deadlines and KPI targets.
• Support disability applications and appeals, coordinating medical appointments and submissions.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and agencies to secure coverage and resolve eligibility issues.
• Assist in onboarding or training colleagues and sharing best practices.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically about financial responsibilities and options.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and use multiple systems to document patient information.
• Provide coverage across multiple locations as needed.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
