Savista, LLC is seeking an Eligibility Specialist I to assist patients in navigating financial assistance programs and to determine eligibility for Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity care. The role involves direct patient contact, documentation, and collaboration with hospital staff to secure coverage.

You will guide families through complex forms with empathy, helping them access essential care while ensuring accurate submissions and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security Disability.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and empathetically.
• Comfort working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
• Genuine care for patients’ needs and concerns.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Occasional local travel may be required.
• Fluent in Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with patients in-person to assess eligibility for financial assistance programs.
• Guide patients through complex applications for Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, and hospital charity care.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and government agencies to secure coverage and resolve eligibility issues.
• Manage high caseloads, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Explain financial responsibilities and available assistance options with clarity and empathy.
• Maintain confidential records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Document, track, and report patient information across multiple systems.
• Provide staffing coverage at nearby locations as needed.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
