Christ Community Health Services in Memphis is hiring a Patient Financial Counselor to verify benefits, assist with Medicaid and Marketplace applications, and educate patients on costs. You will ensure proper eligibility, document payer communications, and help move self-pay patients into appropriate coverage.

The role requires 1–3 years in financial counseling, familiarity with insurance portals, and a CAC certification plan within 90 days.

Formación

• 1–3 years of experience in financial counseling, healthcare registration, billing, or collections.
• Working knowledge of insurance providers, portals, and authorization expectations.
• Willingness to obtain CAC certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; secure authorizations for procedures; record payer communications in patient records.
• Process sliding fee applications per Federal Poverty Guidelines and provide cost estimates.
• Assist patients with Medicaid and Marketplace applications, renewals, and determinations.
• Review aged accounts receivable and establish payment arrangements with self-pay patients.
• Transition eligible patients to Medicaid or other coverage to reduce financial risk.
