As a financial advocate, you will explain insurance coverage, collect patient liability, and help patients navigate healthcare financing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of patient financial services, billing/insurance processes or related area is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Handle registration/check-in activities, collect necessary signatures, and provide patient information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for services; assist with pre-certifications, referrals, and authorizations.
• Explain financial policies, collect patient liabilities, and guide patients through payment options.
• Enter payments/charges and perform daily reconciliation; balance cash drawer and prepare deposits.
• Schedule appointments and procedures; optimize patient flow and ensure patients are prepared for visits.
• Communicate with patients and care teams via phone, email, and in person to address concerns.
• Assist with requests for medical records following policies and laws.
• Provide patient services to support flow, including escorting patients, taking vitals, and assisting staff.
