Qualifications

• Requires an associate’s degree with focus in social work, healthcare administration or finance.
• Minimum of three years’ diversified experience in hospital Patient Registration/Financial Services.
• Strong interpersonal, communications and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register/registration; obtain initial authorizations and insurance information.
• Verify insurance coverage; obtain authorizations and document in patient records.
• Provide financial counseling to patients and families; discuss benefits and payment options.
• Assist uninsured patients in accessing funding resources and community programs.
• Serve as liaison between patient, PFS and payers to optimize accounts receivable.
