Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Office seeks a Financial Care Counselor to accurately complete patient accounts, verify insurance, and inform patients of financial responsibilities before services. You will arrange payment options and obtain necessary authorizations to support efficient revenue cycle operations.

Formación

• Two years experience in hospital service access, clinical service access, physician office or billing and collections.
• Or an Associate's degree in a healthcare related field and one year of experience.
• Or a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.

Responsabilidades

• Accurately complete patient accounts based on departmental protocol and compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Ensure all insurance requirements are met prior to patients' arrival and inform patients of their financial liability.
• Arrange payment options with patients and screen for government funding sources.
• Obtain authorizations based on insurance plan contracts and guidelines.
• Explain bills and assist visitors and patients, and update the billing system.
