Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and utilize the appropriate and correct terminology.
• Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Before treatment, obtain insurance coverage information and educate patients on coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Assess patient ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements; inform on financial assistance programs.
• Complete reimbursement and liability forms for patient review and forward to billing.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes from Clinical Reviewer prior to treatment.
• Review patient balances and coordinate with front desk to ensure proper collection.
• Verify/update demographics and coverage in the system per SOPs at each visit.
• Stay current on available financial aid; build relationships with aid providers and obtain leads.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA laws and guidelines.
