Job summary

Memorial Hospital West is seeking a dedicated patient access professional to support patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification. You will obtain pre-certifications, communicate financial policies, collect co-pays, and assist patients with questions while delivering courteous service.

Role supports Memorial Physician Group and related practices, with travel to other locations as needed; mileage reimbursement is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Verifies insurance benefits and secures required signatures.
• Obtains pre-certification and authorization for services.
• Collects patient out-of-pocket responsibility per guidelines.
• Prepares and balances daily payment deposits.
• Interviews patients and guarantors to obtain necessary information.

Responsibilities

• May perform patient discharge functions including review of AVS, scheduling, and referrals.
• Explains policies and obtains signatures for regulatory and financial forms.
• Verifies insurance benefits and coverage status.
• Determines correct insurance filing order when multiple coverages exist.
• Provides exceptional customer service and addresses questions promptly.
• May guide patients to appropriate destinations for services.
• Schedules walk-in appointments for services offered.
