Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains ongoing communication with patients and families.
• Makes periodic rounds of waiting areas and treatment floors to check in with patients and/or families and assess satisfaction and comfort.
• Assists patients and families by obtaining answers to questions including non-clinical information on delays.
• Provides directions to hospital areas (cafeteria, restrooms, chapel, etc.).
• Provides general information regarding hospital services and programs.
• Interprets and communicates Patient Bill of Rights and other policies to patients, families, staff and volunteers.
• Reports concerns needing immediate attention to the appropriate staff.
• Responds to some comfort needs for patients as approved by nursing.
