Job summary

Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians,Inc is seeking a Patient Service Representative in Columbus, OH to be a welcoming first point of contact for patients. You will perform check-in, registration, insurance verification, and schedule follow-ups, while collaborating with clinical staff to ensure a positive patient experience.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, HIPAA knowledge, and proficiency with electronic health records and office software.

Qualifications

• 1 year of administrative experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• High School diploma or GED required or at least six months of customer service or healthcare experience

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and complete check-in procedures, including data entry and insurance verification
• Collect copays, deductibles and/or outstanding balances
• Check out patients and schedule follow-up appointments and communicate items at check-out
• Answer phone calls and emails from patients and COPC departments and route inquiries as needed
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, mail distribution, scheduling, data input, and maintaining electronic fax inboxes
• Maintain patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations
• Support front desk tasks including patient portal operations and referrals and EPIC duties
