Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital in Waltham, MA is seeking a Patient Experience Representative to provide administrative and customer service support in ambulatory clinic areas and central registration. The role involves patient greeting, data collection, scheduling and liaison duties as part of the float pool after training.

Upon successful training, you will rotate across departments, handle registrations and inquiries, enroll patients in the patient portal, and support billing and scheduling

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating positive customer service that supports hospital operations.
• Responding to routine inquiries about hospital policies.
• Greeting, screening and directing patients, families and visitors.
• May rotate in call-center departments.
• Collecting patient demographics, insurance/payment and referral information for encounters.
• Recording and processing patient information in EMR.
• Collecting co-payments and reconciling payments.
• Obtaining required authorizations and insurance verifications.
• Scheduling patient encounters and coordinating with providers.
• Monitoring daily schedule to optimize resources and patient flow.
• Answering and routing telephone calls; scheduling meetings and events.
• Organizing conferences and department-sponsored programs.
• Providing routine clerical support.
• Enrolling patients and caregivers in patient portal.
