Job summary

CLS Health in Houston, TX seeks a Patient Service Representative I to serve as the first contact for patients, schedule visits, verify information, collect co-pays, and ensure accurate charting.

You will handle insurance verification, assist with referrals, maintain records, and support front-desk operations while delivering friendly, professional service to patients and families in a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Verify patient information, including insurance coverage and personal information.
• Collect co-pays and other fees from patients at the time of service.
• Ensure the referrals are in the patient's chart before the patient comes in.
• Maintain patient records and ensure that they are accurate and up to date.
• Count cash box and complete cash reconciliation forms.
• Handle patient complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner.
• Perform other administrative tasks as needed.
