Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a full-time clinic receptionist to support patient flow and clinic operations. Under supervision, you will check in patients, route calls, and enter important data into the system, while maintaining excellent customer service. You may assist in the waiting area and perform related clerical duties as needed.

The role requires a year of customer service experience, basic medical terminology knowledge, and proficient PC skills; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and PC applications, software and database management desired.

Responsibilities

• Check in scheduled and add-on patients to the clinic and route calls.
• Enter demographic, insurance and charge data into the system.
• Check patients out of the clinic and perform follow-up as necessary.
• Provide assistance in waiting room and ensure outstanding customer service.
