Milwaukee Eye Care Associates, S.C. is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative to join our team and enhance the patient experience. The PSR acts as a vital link between patients, providers, and clinical staff.

Responsibilities include registration, scheduling, insurance verification, check-in/out, payments, and effective patient communication within our HIPAA-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Healthcare, medical office, patient registration, scheduling, or front desk experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working directly with patients in a fast-paced environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and basic Excel.
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with a friendly, professional first impression.
• Complete patient check-in/out accurately and efficiently.
• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule appointments, testing, referrals, and follow-ups.
• Review insurance eligibility, referrals, and basic benefits.
• Collect co-pays and payments for non-covered services.
• Enter and maintain information in EHR and practice management systems.
• Communicate appointment information and delays to patients.
• Answer questions and resolve concerns professionally.
• Assist with incoming calls and provide call center coverage as needed.
• Process patient messages, forms, faxes, and medical record requests.
• Coordinate with providers and team members to keep patients moving smoothly.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and policies.
• Support other locations and responsibilities as needs change.
