Job summary

Spokane Eye Clinic in Spokane, WA is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) for an onsite, non-exempt role. You will handle inbound/outbound patient interactions, scheduling, registration, and daily workflows while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate insurance verification.

The position requires 2+ years in a patient-facing healthcare or similar setting, High School diploma or GED, and strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete patient registrations for appointments per policies, with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Initiate pre-registration and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance, benefits and referrals.
• Obtain IDs and insurance cards; validate patient identity and coverage.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Facilitate smooth patient flow through the care process.
• Provide appointment and payment policy information to patients.
• Offer upfront financial counseling and discuss payment plans as needed.
• Collect funds according to guidelines and communicate financial obligations.
• Serve as liaison for patients, physicians, and staff to resolve access issues.
• Notify relevant parties about appointment times, referral criteria, insurance verification, and prior authorization.
• Train other patient services representatives and maintain excellent customer service.
• Adhere to all company policies and standards.
