Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent with 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial health plans.
• Experience with Epic practice management system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and respond to routine requests for information.
• Registers patients; obtains demographic and insurance information; verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays, deductibles, and previous balances; posts payments and updates demographic and insurance information.
• Schedules patient appointments and coordinates cancellations, reschedules, and additions to schedules.
• Educate patients on appropriate additional services or health education campaigns.
• Document and provide feedback from callers for follow-up and/or resolution.
• Assist patients in enrolling and increasing utilization of MyChart App (EPIC EMR).
• Coordinates the scheduling of more complex patient appointments, tests, and procedures.
• Updates insurance, financial responsibility, and other data when changes occur and communicates this to the patient.
• Identifies, reports, and resolves problems regarding registration or authorizations.
• Monitors patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous care; assist with transportation needs.
• Performs visit closure including checking out patients and scheduling follow-ups.
• Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.
