Job summary

Cedars-Sinai in Santa Monica is seeking a Patient Service Representative to deliver outstanding patient relations and efficient front-desk support. You will handle calls, schedule appointments, register patients, collect co-pays, and verify demographics and insurance data across the Cedars Sinai Medical Network.

In this role you will collaborate with clinical teams, manage referrals, assist with physician schedules, and support infection prevention initiatives while upholding department policies

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Patient Service Rep in outpatient medical office setting preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides outstanding customer service through intake, prioritizing, and resolution of calls and patient needs for a multi-specialty team.
• Greets patients and assists with resolving patient issues or raising patients issues.
• Check-in and out patients and collect co-payments/give receipts/reconcile payments; verifies demographics and insurance data in CS-Link.
• Schedules appointments, completes patient registration, collects patient payments and provides high standard of patient service.
• Assists with management of physician schedules and finds opportunities for improvement; handles patient/provider correspondence as instructed.
• Processes and tracks referrals and authorizations for various insurance types.
• Manages patient care flow and assists with monitoring CS-Link message pools and standard work.
• Monitors and assesses own workflow to find opportunities for improvement.
• Explains policies, procedures, or services to patients using administrative knowledge.
• Participates in daily huddles and staff meetings.
• Promotes and practices infection prevention standards and all department policies and procedures.
