Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma and strong communication skills. Prior experience in medical reception or admin roles is preferred; adherence to HIPAA and privacy standards is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills for diverse individuals.
• Ability to problem solve, stay calm under pressure and respond professionally.
• Strong written communication skills with clear spelling.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Active listening and de-escalation when needed.
• Prioritizes multiple tasks and follows protocols.
• Keyboarding skills and basic Windows software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates scheduling, including new and follow-up in-person or virtual visits.
• Manages multi-line phone system and directs urgent calls appropriately.
• Verifies insurance coverage and educates on co-pays and various plans.
• Enrols patients on the patient portal and explains benefits.
• Requests interpreter services and handles patient communications.
• Greets patients and assists with forms during check-in.
• Monitors messages and coordinates with clinical staff for care needs.
