Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a patient access specialist to support registration, verification, scheduling and billing in a fast-paced healthcare setting. You will provide compassionate service to patients and families, maintain accurate records, and adhere to healthcare regulations.

This on-site role in Shelby, NC requires strong computer skills, front desk experience, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts including holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Computer experience required.
• Customer relations experience required.
• Experience with Medical Records Software preferred.
• Front desk practice experience preferred.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
• Ability to bend and lift up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to work 12-hour variable shifts including holidays and weekends.

• Interact with patients and families in sensitive situations.

• Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting.
• Perform arrival and/or departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines.
• Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during registration.
• Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient, insurance, billing, and payment information.
• Assist billing functions accurately and/or direct matters to the appropriate billing office.
• Demonstrate proficiency in emergency codes and appropriate responses.
• Follow applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
