Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Registration Specialist to support patient intake for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services at our Winston-Salem facility. You will verify insurance, obtain authorizations, coordinate scheduling, and maintain accurate patient records.

In a fast-paced setting, you will manage deposits, updates, and communications with patients and departments, ensuring smooth flow of care and timely payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Accurate spelling and attention to detail required.
• Must be able to key 40 wpm.
• Knowledge of patient registration, insurance, and hospital billing preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge and understanding of third party reimbursement preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and customer services skills required.
• Must be able to push a wheelchair with patient and maneuver through doors, ramps and elevators.
• Must respond quickly to medical STATS and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Register or pre-register all scheduled patients for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorization for services requiring authorization, pre-certification, and/or referral.
• Coordinate with patients and scheduling departments to reschedule procedures until authorization or patient payment can be arranged.
• Request upfront payment of deposits from the responsible party.
• Update schedules for cancellations, rescheduling, and other changes on an ongoing basis.
