Job summary

Solis Mammography in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first contact for patients, greeting and registering them and posting payments. This role supports front office operations at 40 hours per week with standard hours and occasional coverage at other centers.

You will verify information in the RIS, assist with forms, collect payments, and help maintain accurate patient records while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Two years of healthcare registration or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but sometimes complex written or oral instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite; RIS software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Register patients including demographic and insurance information into RIS and verify accuracy of existing information.
• Explain forms to patients and assist with form completion, via paper or tablet.
• Process necessary paperwork by scanning documents and maintaining confidentiality.
• Collect patient payments and explain benefits; verify insurance when necessary.
• Schedule and reschedule patients; generate daily invoice journal and reconcile payments.
• Participate in front office training to stay abreast of policies and procedures.
