Martha's Vineyard Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Ambassador to provide accurate information and courteous service to staff, patients, visitors, and callers. The role includes screening on arrival, directing to departments, and assisting with wheelchair transport while upholding HIPAA guidelines.

The position requires strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work with diverse populations. Onsite location at One Hospital Road, 25 weekly hours, with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• No substitution of degree with experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, family/visitors, and staff in a welcoming manner.
• Screen and direct patients/visitors per hospital procedures.
• Provide information about hospital services and directions.
• Escort patients/visitors to departments and assist with wheelchair/transport.
• Maintain cleanliness of lobbies and public areas per infection control standards.
• Respond to inquiries via patient information lines while protecting confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Collaborate with volunteers to assist patients and visitors.
• Coordinate patient notifications to the Lab for appointments.
• Offer AT&T Language Line for non-English speakers.
• Initiate emergency codes and participate in emergency procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the Hospital Ambassador role.
