Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital in Waltham is seeking a Patient Experience Representative I to support administrative operations and coordinate services to patients and families onsite. You will greet and register patients, enroll them in the patient portal, collect demographics and insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling to optimize the patient experience.

Under supervision, you will contribute to process improvements, handle routine inquiries, and support team handoffs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No healthcare experience required; basic customer service and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive and effective customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
• Greet, screen, direct, and register patients; enroll in patient portal.
• Collaborate with providers and practices to manage complex patient issues; may rotate in call centers.
• Schedule patient encounters and procedures under supervision; monitor daily schedules.
• Assist and prepare examination rooms; collect demographics, insurance, and referral information; obtain authorizations.
• Process co-payments and maintain accurate records in hospital systems.
• Answer, screen, and route calls; triage urgent inquiries and escalate when needed.
