Job summary

Urology Austin is seeking a front desk/medical office assistant to greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, and support billing with verification and cash handling. You will maintain a neat reception area, assist with scanning documents into the EMR, and coordinate appointments through the day.

The role requires 2–3 years in a busy medical office, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask while delivering professional patient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Two-three years of medical office experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high patient volume doctors office.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients as the first point of contact of the patient experience.
• Check-in patients and obtain accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Verify scanned card images are current and coordinate with billing.
• Assist with insurance verification for new and existing patients.
• Manage patient portions (co-pays, coinsurance, deductible).
• Maintain accurate cash box and reconcile end-of-day totals.
• Scan documents into the EMR and provide signed orders/referrals as needed.
• Schedule future appointments and prep non-clinical items for next day.
• Assist with telephone calls and general front desk duties as required.
