Job summary

Northwestern Medicine's Immediate Care Center in Lake Bluff, IL, is looking for a Part-Time Patient Service Representative to support patient check-in, registration, and payments at the Lake Bluff clinic.

This role requires two 12-hour shifts (7:45am–8:15pm) per week with weekend and holiday coverage; some floating to other ICCs may be needed. A HS diploma or GED is required; 0–2 years in customer service preferred, with healthcare experience a plus.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years in a customer service position preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guests, verify identity and provide information.
• Complete check-in/out functions.
• Confirm/update patient demographics/insurance information.
• Register patients as needed and obtain consents/authorizations.
• Collect co-payments and process payments.
• Post payments and perform end-of-day cash drawer closing.
• Keep waiting area clean and comfortable.
• Inform patients of delays or changes in appointment status.
• Schedule appointments and float to other ICCs/departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
