Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Patient Service Representative at the Sycamore clinic to support front-desk operations and patient flow. This role includes check-in/out, registration, and basic billing tasks with weekend and holiday coverage required.

The position may require floating to other ICCs as needed. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 0–2 years in customer service, with preferred experience in healthcare and bilingual abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 0–2 years of experience in a customer service role.
• Experience with check-in/check-out, scheduling, and basic billing is preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and guests upon arrival.
• Check-in and check-out of appointments.
• Verify patient identity and insurance information.
• Complete patient registration as needed.
• Obtain necessary consents/authorizations.
• Collect co-payments and process payments.
• Post payments and close end-of-day cash drawer.
• Maintain waiting area cleanliness and comfort.
• Inform patients of delays or changes in appointments.
• Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
• Float to other clinics/departments as required.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
